Boathouse Bar & Stowaway Grill
About This Spot
Stepping into Boathouse Bar & Stowaway Grill feels like arriving at a comfortably worn-in lakeside retreat where the rhythm of the water slows the pace and encourages easy conversations. It’s the kind of place where local friends gather after a day on the lake, where dogs might linger by your side, and the hum of friendly chatter mixes with the clink of glasses and the occasional rattle of a pool cue. This welcoming spot carries a casual, unpretentious energy—relaxed, open, and quietly vibrant.
The atmosphere embraces its waterfront location with an openness that invites you to settle in, whether you’ve arrived by car or boat. The outdoor views provide gentle reminders of the serene lake nearby, while inside, warm wood tones and simple, thoughtful touches create a down-to-earth backdrop for laid-back evenings. The pace here slows naturally; moments stretch a little longer over shared plates or slow-sipped drinks.
Food shapes much of the experience at Boathouse Bar & Stowaway Grill. It’s the kind of menu that feels familiar but curious—comfort food with an unexpected lift. Imagine sinking into a burger layered with deep, savory bacon jam or gathering around a platter heavy with fresh, well-prepared seafood. The bar pulses quietly with a creative spirit, offering cocktails with a thoughtful balance—drinks that invite conversation more than ceremony. There’s a subtle sense that everything here has been crafted with care for both flavor and the friends who will enjoy it.
Whether you’re sliding into a booth with a casual crew, catching a few games of pool, or enjoying an evening that stretches lazily into the stars, the Boathouse has a steady, welcoming beat. It’s a place less about spectacle and more about subtle pleasures—the steady camaraderie, the familiar comfort of a well-made burger or a cold local beer, and the gentle pulse of a space that feels like it’s been quietly part of the community for years.

My first time here. Bartender was great. We didn't order food but my family did and said its very good. We played pool, had drinks and had a great time.

Food was delicious. I asked for a spiked lemonade and it did not taste spiked at all. Staff was nice but would not come around our table often. Lots of stables too.

Absolutely stellar food! Everything was amazing. Dog friendly place. The fries and coconut shrimp were 12/10! Truly delicious.

Stumbled across this place on a work trip. The food was as expected for a bar (fine salad, great pizza!) but the vibes on a Wednesday night for karaoke were AMAZING. Everyone was so happy and supportive and genuine in their singing.

*I was in Nice just house-sitting for a friend, and the Boathouse was across the street. The staff there was so friendly and fun, and they treated me like I belonged there. The pizza is better than anything I have found in Oregon, delicious crust and tons of toppings…truly a great pizza if you’re HUNGRY, and want pizza. The bar is filled with wonderful locals and the best staff ever, and all of them make you feel apart of their scene. You are welcomed with warmth and smiles. Then you walk out back to the wonderful lake-side dining/ live music/ dog-friendly/ lake side park atmosphere. Totally unexpected and wonderful as well. The band was great, the dogs were great, and the experience was amazing. (Thank you, both Boathouse staff & locals for making me feel at home while I was a stranger in your world.) They all made me feel welcome and safe while I was there, and I have zero doubt that anyone would feel differently. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ Please visit this California Gem. It’s beautiful in every way. -Nelson Kittler. Oct.2nd ‘25

I had a really wonderful night here. We sat on the patio out back facing the water. Beautiful view, a cute local kitty and overall good spot out in the cuts for a nice view and bite to eat. I got the taco salad and i cant remember what my friends got. But there were good french friend and lots of cold drinks... perfect after a day out in the hot sun. I am giving 5 stars for what it is. Solid. Its nothing fancy, not fine dining.. if that's what you're looking for. But the atmosphere was really what we needed and I'm really glad we chose to come here... even ended up staying till the sun went down. I took no photos of our meal but heres the view and kitty..
